Sound, light, voice and movement orbit, collide, fuse, and repel to create a hauntingly evocative landscape of bodies turned inside out. A sequel to LEIMAY’s critically acclaimed piece BECOMING-corpus, borders sets stillness against high physicality and visceral vocalizations against sonic harmonies. Forms dissolve through walls of light and mutable axes of space. The stage morphs into a hanging valley of shadows and swelling interferences, enveloping the audience in a universe at the thresholds of itself. Five performers interact with projections and an original composition in this 75 minute performance work that was created in 2015/16. The world premiere of borders coincided with the release of a publication that traces LEIMAY’s creative process.

Performed at BAM Fisher, Brooklyn in 2016.
